Crank
Building off of a previous general design, I designed composite cranks.
Using surfaces modeled anisotropic carbon fiber in SolidWorks Simulation
Based on safety factor and an target of 100 hours or 500,000 cycles
Using diagrams, estimated two extreme loading cases (max torsion, max bending)
Modified geometry and number and type of carbon fiber layers
Driveshaft
Used Ansys to analyze UTFR's driveshaft for strength and fatigue strength.
Flow Cell
I applied CFD to a flow cell to visualize mixing for drug dissolution profiles.
This was used as a small part of one of the lab's posters at the Accelerate 24 conference.
